While working in the counseling field since 2004, Dr. Corey has enjoyed working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. She completed her doctoral work at North Carolina State University in Counseling and Counselor Education. Her master’s work was done at Appalachian State University, where she earned a Master of Arts degree in Community Counseling. Her specialties include anxiety, depression, childhood behavior issues, relationship issues, and career counseling. Dr. Corey uses a variety of counseling interventions to assist clients, however, her preferred theoretical orientation is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. This form of therapy is used to change the negative way a person thinks to then change negative emotions and behaviors.

Dr. Corey currently accepts several insurances as well as self-payment of $90.00 for each 50-minute session.
